Top Diplomat Interrupts Trump with Handwritten Note on Middle East Peace Deal

A pressing handwritten note delivered to Donald Trump by his top diplomat, Marco Rubio, suggested that an announcement regarding a peace agreement in Gaza might be made very soon.

Captured in a image, the note's contents encouraged the president to approve a message on his Truth Social network to announce the news first.

"Nearly there," the note stated, according to the image. "You are needed to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first."

Shortly after the note was seen, Trump published on his Truth Social network, expressing he was "very proud" to reveal the initial stage of the agreement.

"This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released shortly, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Long-lasting, and Enduring Peace," he stated.

The Incident the Note Was Passed to Trump

Trump was conducting a discussion with conservative influencers about far-left groups when Rubio, positioned in the rear of the White House's state room, caught his eye.

He had news for Trump, he explained, but it would have to wait until after the press left. Then, Rubio passed the president the note.

"I just received a note by the secretary of state saying that we're nearing completion to a deal on the Middle East, and they're gonna require my input soon," Trump announced. "So we'll take a couple of more questions."

Behind the Scenes of the Peace Talks

The event had already been underway for more than an hour when Rubio came forward. The president invited him to come in, and Rubio quietly spoke something to Trump before handing him the note.

The note's urgent tone coincided with Trump's key regional advisor, Steve Witkoff, Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and other high-ranking diplomats joined a third round of negotiations between Israel and Hamas at an Egyptian resort – a sign that negotiators are working to dive deeply into the most challenging topics of a US plan to halt hostilities in Gaza.

Trump's Comments on Overseas Trip

Trump had begun the influencer event by telling the press that he planned to travel to the Middle East "near the conclusion of the week" and could even "visit multiple locations" in the region to Egypt and possibly Gaza as US negotiators closed in on a deal.

Nevertheless, even after Rubio passed Trump the note, Trump continued to talk to the influencers and take questions from the media as the secretary of state became visibly anxious.

Concluding the Event

Nearly 10 minutes after his earlier statement about departing, Trump declared: "I must leave now to try and solve some problems in the Middle East – although I'm ably assisted by our secretary of state. He could likely do an even better job than me, but who knows."

"We wish to avoid to take any chances. So we're going to go and do that," Trump added.

He then proposed that two attendees remain and answer inquiries in his stead. However, Trump continued to take questions before the event concluded without Cabinet members remaining behind.

"We're gonna get peace in the Middle East," Trump wrapped by saying. "That is exactly what we want to do."
